The 12/25 featured a four-cylinder monoblock engine of i.o.e. configuration of 1795 cc with a four-speed gearbox in unit construction. It has transmission and rear-wheel brakes. The gate-change gear lever and handbrake are situated on the right of the driver and the car has a central throttle/accelerator pedal, as was customary at that time. Affectionately known as 'Neddy', there is a wealth of history concerning this particular car. It was dispatched from the factory on the 16th January 1925 and supplied to dealers Wooldridge & Sons, of Crewe. Purchased by a Mr. Coventry of Northenden, Manchester the car remained with him until passing to his son Phillip Coventry in around 1949. After his death in 1957 the car appears to have lain unused until purchased by the third owner in 1972 when the total mileage stood at 75,000. The present mileage is still under 99,000! The car is exceptionally original and an absolute delight, still running on the correct beaded edge wheels with 820 x 120 tyres. It is finished in cherry red with black wings and the interior is in the original 'deep-buttoned' brown leather, although sligthly distressed in places. It has a Vee-windscreen, rear luggage rack and large bulb horn, with the spare wheel mounted on the near-side running board. The car also benefits from an Auster rear screen, which makes travelling in the rear with the hood down much more pleasurable! It is believed to the original specification in all respects. In very good running order and ready to be enjoyed. It has been known to The Humber Register for since 1972 and is well catered for by this enthusiastic club. It has recently had a bare metal respray and a total engine rebuild, together with a complete mechanical overhaul and rebuild of dynastart and magneto. It will require careful 'running-in' of the engine.
